Jan 2012 Car of the Month
January’s car of the month Belongs to Kaitlyn Mills 1965 Mustang
This is what she has to say about her Car:
I have a 1965 wimbledon white Mustang coupe with a straight six (200) engine and blue vinyl interior. Simple yet classy as I like to say. I have had the car for about four years and have been driving since I turned 16 and got my license. I have a true love/hate relationship with this car. I love to drive it when it cooperates, but I hate it when things continually go wrong. I’ve only done a few small things to the car and fixed necessary things as they go wrong, which is what I get for having such an old car. The plan is to really work on the car and restore it once I graduate college and can put some real money into it. I can’t wait until the day that it is returned to its former glory and can be entered into car show with the rest of the MOB cars!!!

Dec 2011 car of the month
December’s Car of the Year…..Mike, Donna, and Steven
We are fortunate enough to own 2 mustangs. Our first was a 2006 V6 Torch Red Pony Package. We bought it new in August of 2006. It is mostly stock and has a Chip Foose autograph on the Dash. Our Second mustang is a 1983 LX that Myself (Mike) and my son (Steven) restored. We enjoy driving both cars to Cruise-ins, Car shows and with the Mob on Saturday nights.

November Car of Month
November Car of the Month Belongs to BOB KNIGHT
2004 Mustang Mach 1 (1 of 697 in Oxford White)
I bought the car in 2007 with 6647 miles on it. It has always been my daily driver (with an occassional trip to VIR for some “spirited” driving!)
Mods include wheels, tires, springs, caster/camber plates, MGW shifter, JLT intake, x-pipe and cat-back exhaust, painted hood stripe and door inserts, and a dyno tune by Pro Dyno.
I’ve enjoyed the many car shows I’ve attended, and have learned that there are many men (and women) who will sit around in the blazing sun for 8 hours to receive a $1.39 trophy!
My new job requires me to drive 70 miles each way to and from work, so I’m currently adding 3,000 miles per month and have just passed 79,000 miles. I hate to put so many miles on it, but they are meant to be driven. I still get a kick out of driving the Mach 1 each time I start it up.
October Car of Month
October car of the Month is 1999 Mustang Cobra Own by Doug. This is what Doug had to say about his car:
My car is a 1999 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible. It’s my third Mustang as I’ve had a 1971 Mach 1 and a ’96 Laser Red GT Mustang also. I found this one in June of 2009 in Suffolk, Virginia after months of searching…. in a Craigslist ad. The owner had bought it from his father-in-law who leased it new as a company car! It’s been in the Chicago area and in Connecticut but showed now signs of any winter weather exposure and was in great condition when I got it. I’ve had the front bumper skin resprayed but otherwise all the paint is original. Top is original and the engine is stock with the exception of a K&N drop in filter.
About 4 months after I bought it the seller’s garage was under 2 feet of salt water as the result of a large Nor’ Easter storm that came through Suffolk. The car would’ve been probably written off had it still been there.
The car is bone stock and I like that. I’m just kinda old fashioned that way and it really sets it apart from a lot of other Cobras. Plus it saves me a lot of money too and that’s a bonus. It’s driven mostly on nice days but it has seen rain a couple times and I’ve taken it to Pennsylvania twice, Alabama once and have taken it down the Tail of the Dragon, so it does get driven. It’s fun winding the DOHC engine up to 6500 RPM+ and listening to the wonderful noise it makes. This is my first convertible and it has been lots of fun for our entire family and my daughter absolutely loves doing the parades.
I joined the MOB about a year or so ago and have enjoyed getting to know folks, participating in shows and just eating meals and talking Mustangs.
August Car of the Month
August car of the month belongs to Kathy and Dave Chantrey. It’s a 2004 Sonic Blue V-6. They purchased it new in June of 2004. It is all stock. The only new addition has been a blue and silver mustang on the trunk lid matt. Kathy enjoys it as her daily drive. They have fun going to shows and cruise-ins. There have been a couple big thrills at the cars shows. One was at the Savannah Mustang Show. After driving through six hours straight of rain and trying to get it clean again, they took a first place in their division. The other was participating in the 2010 National Mustang Show “Mustangs at the Mansion” at the Biltmore Estates where they took first place. They continue to look forward to more shows and fun with the MOB.
June Car of the Month
June Car of the month belongs to Denne and this is what he had to say about his Ride.
After having an abusive first two years of existence in the Chicago area, this 1988 GT was rescued and revived by it’s current owner.
Bought in 1990, it was stone stock – right down to the Motorcraft paper air filter and air silencer. It’s been driven cross country, taking it’s owner to Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix AZ and surviving 110 degree heat. It’s no garage queen, having been driven in all forms of weather from rain to salty atmospheres and even through 6+ inches of snow.
It’s powered by a DSS 306 shortblock that the owner’s late daughter helped him build, putting in three of the pistons. Trick Flow Street Heat heads, Track Heat intake, large Comp Cams nitrous cam, Art Carr full manual AOD, 3:73 gears, and every other bolt on available is present. Built for either nitrous or moderate boost levels, the car received praise from Billy Glidden and ‘Big Daddy’ Dwayne Gutridge at Fun Ford Weekend in June 2004. ETs are conservatively expected to be in the 12 second range, provided there’s enough traction.
Future plans call for a complete rear end rebuild with 31 spline Strange axles, Eaton center section, Steeda upper and lower control arms, and Mickey Thompson ET Streets to aid traction. The owner intends to custom mix his own paint color and change the body style over to 1993 Cobra side skirts and rear bumper with a Stalker nose from Cervinis. Maybe a 351 based 427 stroker too?
The owner is MOOG certified technician who also took the driving course at the Bob Bondourant School of High Performance Driving while he was in Phoenix. All work on the car was performed by him, other than the rear end and transmission internals.
(PS Webmaster is sorry to Denne for taking this long to get his car up. No excuse other then he needs to be fired!)
July Car of the Month
July’s Car of the Month Belongs to Ann Sebastian and this is what she had to say about her ride!
I fell in love at first sight! “Precious” is her name and she is a magnificent representation of the 4th generation of the best car every made. She rolled off the assembly line as number 777, thus my username of mycobra777 and her pretty little license plate. I have always been a Ford girl (it’s my middle name, really it is), but this car will always hold a special place in my heart.
Precious is the triple black 1999 Mustang Cobra Convertible loved and owned by The Sebastians (Anne, Greg, and Taylor). Taylor named her shortly after she joined the family (I think she was into the Lord of the Rings during this time). She has 2 stable mates that are a little jealous of all the attention she gets.
Yes, a few mods have been added. Custom mufflers, cold air intake, 3-D Cobra on the grill, lowering springs, smoke lights and black wheels. That’s all Greg and my wallet will let me do.
She used to be a daily driver, but now she is pampered and garage-kept until the pretty weather comes. Then she comes out to play with her top down!
